Craig Harold Smith

Craig H. Smith 46, of Chatham passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on November 30th.

Born in Teaneck and raised in Bogota, Craig graduated from Bogota High School in 1983 where he excelled at varsity basketball and baseball. He attended Susquehanna University on a basketball scholarship and graduated in1987 with a B.S. in Business. Craig was a partner at Zander Landscaping Company in Green Village. Prior to that he was the owner of Little Squirt Fire Truck, LLC, in Chatham, was a co-owner of Morris Invisible Fence Company in Harding Township, the owner of Clinton Invisible Fence Company and an Estimator for Brisk Waterproofing of Ridgefield, N.J..

Craig was a Long time member of both the Chatham and New Vernon Volunteer fire departments. He had previously been a member of the Bogota Fire Department. In Chatham, he was the coach of his daughter’s softball and basketball teams. He also coached basketball at the Oratory Prep Middle School. Craig loved bowling, golf, fishing and crabbing.

Craig was the beloved father of Emily and Ashley. He was the devoted son of Edward H. and the late Lois Ann Smith. He is also survived by his dear brother Glenn and his wife Brenda, aunts, Irene Everett, Joan Byrnes and Lois Strong, uncle, Robert Smith, nephew Benjamin, cousins, Dawn, Tammy, Sue, Scott, Susan, and Troy, and his former wife, Joanne Morris. His cousin Steven Everett died previously.
