Cornelia Boreman Graham-Beloved Wife, Mother & Grandmother, 84


Mrs. Cornelia Boreman Graham passed away with family at her side on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 20th at The Presbyterian Church at New Providence, 1307 Springfield Ave, New Providence, NJ at 11:00 am and on Tuesday, June 25th at Fellowship Village, 8000 Fellowship Road, Basking Ridge, NJ at 1:30 pm.Born September 24, `1928 in Parkersburg, WV, Cornelia attended Randolph Macon Woman’s College, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from West Virginia University and later earned her Master’s at Kean College. A devoted wife and mother, she married McVey Graham (d.1999) in 1951 and started her family in Baton Rouge, LA where she made lifelong friends. She then resided in Summit, NJ for 44 years, and moved to Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge, NJ in 2006. She volunteered and remained involved in numerous groups and activities at all her home churches through the years, more recently the Presbyterian Church at New Providence and at Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church. She led women’s groups, volunteered with the homeless, ran a food pantry from her basement, and worked as a team with her husband as budget counselors. She was also a longtime Overlook Hospital Auxiliary Twig member. Cornelia’s greatest joys were the activities shared with her late husband which included bridge, theater, opera and church work. They traveled extensively across the country and around the world. Cornelia was predeceased by her beloved husband, McVey Graham. she is survived by her sister Evelyn B. Parks and her brother H. Stephenson Boreman (Julia), her children Catherine Lindberg (Darryl), McVey Graham (Doris) and Cornelia “Holly” Haugen (Christopher), her grandchildren Sarah Graham, David Graham (Katie) and Katherine Imbrock (Grant), and five nieces and a nephew. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Fellowship Village Legacy Endowment Fund, 8000 Fellowship Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 or to Wycliffe Bible Translators, PO Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862.
