Concetta “Connie” Devlin

Concetta “Connie” Devlin, 82, of Millburn, NJ passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.

Concetta was born on December 4, 1934 in Newark, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis and Frances (nee Marassi) Carbone.

Concetta was a graduate of Belleville High School where she met and married her husband, the late Fred Devlin. She was a member of the West Caldwell Junior Women’s Club. In her earlier years, she devoted her time to a variety of philanthropic causes and enjoyed cooking, baking, skiing, tennis, and playing bridge. Above all else, Connie loved spending time with her family and friends. She brought a sense of love, laughter and insight to all those who were fortunate to have known her.

Connie worked as a Buyer for American Cyanamid and O’Berk Company for many years. In her retirement, she worked for Fortunoffs, Marshs’ and Walter Bauman Jewelry. Connie, always a political activist, worked at a local polling location during local and national elections.

She was the loving mother of Karen Calicchio and husband Michael, Susan Devlin and husband Jim Hornecker, Fred Devlin and wife Jennifer, Lewis Devlin, Marion Tortoriello and husband Steve, and Matthew Devlin and wife Amanda. In addition, she is survived by her cherished grandchildren; Brian, Christine and Emily Calicchio, Jessica, Alexander, Jeffrey, and Michael Hornecker, Lindsay Beck and husband Jeremy, Ricky Devlin, Ashlee, Tyler, Autumn, Jet and Delilah Devlin, Stephen, Nicholas, and Louis Tortoriello, and Shailagh and Kyleigh Devlin. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Jane Siclari.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2017 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A Prayer Service will be 5:30 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home. Cremation will be private. In Connie’s memory, donations can be directed to Overlook Foundation, P.O. Box 220, Summit, NJ 07902.
