Charles P. Hutchinson, Jr., 81, of Jupiter, Florida, formerly of Chatham, New Jersey passed away peacefully on February 6, 2017.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 200 Main Street, Chatham. Interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery, Chatham. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 5-8pm at the Wm A Bradley &Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham.

Born in Trenton, Charles lived in Chatham for over 50 years before moving to Jupiter, Florida. Charles attended Junior high school and graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 1953, and went on to serve in the US Army, where he was a member of the Military Police from 1954-1956, stationed in Alaska. He graduated from Lehigh University in 1959, and went on to join the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. for three years. Charles then entered the investment banking business as an advisor and became partner of investment banking firm of Alex. Brown & Sons in 1981.

Charles was a member of the Seaside Park Yacht Club, where he served as Commodore and then Chairman of the Executive Committee for 19 years. He was also an active member of the Canoe Brook Country Club for 40 years, where he was a trustee from 1981-1984; the United States Seniors Golf Association for 25 years; the New Jersey Seniors Golf Association; and the Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club for 39 years. Charles was a lifelong competitive sailor and golfer. He loved spending summers in Seaside Park with his family and friends and sailing on Barnegat Bay. He also loved his yearly trips to Ireland with his beloved wife Patricia, where they enjoyed golfing and the beautiful people and culture.

Charles was predeceased by his parents, the Honorable Charles P. Hutchinson and Laura Reading Hutchinson; and his beloved wife Patricia. He is survived by his children Carolyn Houck and her husband David and Charles P. Hutchinson, III and his wife Kelli; grandchildren Scott, Darby, Stephanie, Griffin, Samantha and Charlie.
