Charles Ernest Walsh, Jr. of Chatham, NJ and Jupiter, FL entered into eternal rest surrounded by family on January 8, 2020. Charlie is survived by his dedicated and loving wife Maureen (Dempsey) of 61 years along with his two children, Owen (Clarissa) of Chatham, NJ and Michaela Marie Walsh of Gladstone, NJ. Charlie is also survived by his sisters Mary, Susan (Bill Belfiore) and Patricia, and his brothers Richard (Pat) and Michael (Marcia). Charlie was predeceased by both his parents, Charles Ernest Walsh and Genevieve Walsh. Charlie and Maureen also have seven loving grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that will miss him terribly. Charlie was born on May 7, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Xavier High School and Fordham University School of Business. Charlie served in the United States Army in Germany from 1955-1957. Charlie and Maureen married on November 15, 1958. He started his career as a Security Trader with First Boston in NYC, where he was recognized for his exemplary service of 25 years. Charlie enjoyed playing golf, for many years at both the Westhampton Country Club (Westhampton Beach, NY) and Jonathan’s Landings (Jupiter, FL). Charlie was a voracious reader and could devour a novel in a day given the time. He also loved the ocean and would float around for hours. Summers would find him at the Surf Club of Quogue, NY, where he sat for hours watching his children and grandchildren play in the surf. Most importantly, Charlie loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife, Maureen, who he referred to as “Moo!”
