Catherine (McCormack) Clinton of Whippany, passed away after a long illness at Pine Acres Nursing Home in Madison. She was 93. Born in Ardee County Louth Ireland, the oldest of 9 children she came to Whippany in 1965.
Catherine was Director of Nursing at Crestwood Nursing Home in Whippany from 1966 until she retired at 75 years old. In Ireland before she married, she was one of the first public nurses and one of the first women to drive a car. She also won the Queen’s medal for nursing accomplishments in Ireland.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband Mark. A. Clinton in 1999. She is survived by her children: Catherine and her husband Mark Correia Sr. of Whippany, Mark Clinton and his wife Geralyn of Fairfax Station VA and Patrick Clinton of Morristown; grandchildren: Mark Correia and his wife Janet, Christopher, Caitlin & Thomas Correia, Courtney & Geralyn Clinton and Rachael & Catherine Clinton. She is also survived by her brother Joseph McCormack of Ardee County Louth Ireland, sister Rose Trein of Florida along with many other family and friends in Ireland.
