Betty Ciccone, Loving Wife, Mother and Grandma


Ciccone, Elizabeth “Betty” Lillian, (nee Scott), 83 of West Orange, on Monday, August 20th, with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 24th at 9:15 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1212 Kelly St, Union. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 23rd from 4-8 pm at the Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave, Union.


Born and raised in Newark to the late William and Louise Scott, Elizabeth graduated from Westside High School. After her schooling, she worked for Carol Ann Dress shop for over 20 years. In 1948, she married Peter Ciccone and the couple started their family and would soon settle in West Orange, where they have lived for over 40 years. Elizabeth was an avid reader, an enthusiastic sports fan, and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.


Predeceased by her brother US Army Retiree Master Seargent, William J. Scott Jr., she is survived by her husband Peter of 64 years, children Kathleen Heinze and her husband William and Michael Ciccone and his wife Rose Ann; her grandsons Eric (Patricia) and Daniel (Tiffany) Heinze and Steven and Nicholas Ciccone; by her great granddaughters Koral and Emily; and by many other loving relatives and friends.
