Betsy Jayne Chorpenning, 60, of Summit, New Jersey, passed away on June 28, 2020. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family, husband, Frederick Charles (Rick) Reigle, 65, and children Margo Elayne Reigle, 23, and Ryan Christopher Reigle, 19.

Betsy was born April 4, 1960 in Marietta, Ohio to her loving parents Albert Roy Chorpenning and Betty Mae White. She was the youngest of four and has three living siblings, Drew, 68, a CPA in Columbus, Ohio and his wife Sonia; Brian , 65, an attorney in Columbus, Ohio and his wife Lee; and Diane, 61, a retired registered nurse in Stuart, Florida and her husband Darren. Betsy has a nephew, Eric Chorpenning, a business associate and a niece, Julie Catanzaro, a registered nurse, both of Columbus, Ohio.

Betsy graduated from Marietta High School in 1978 and enrolled in classes at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated in 1982 with a marketing degree.

Betsy will always be remembered as a selfless, loving, caring and giving wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend to all. Always positive and seeing the good in people, she gave herself to many causes and assistance to others. She has been a big sister for Big Brother/Big Sister for the past five years; a volunteer at Meals on Wheels for the elderly in the community of Summit and New Providence for the past 10 years, an active member and volunteer for the local chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition for ten years and a volunteer and participant to many fund raisers and events for community support groups.

Betsy and Rick shared 30 beautiful years together. Betsy began her career in 1988 with Bristol-Myers Squibb as a sales representative in Sarasota, Florida and is currently a Regional Account Director with Pfizer, Inc and Rick is retired. Betsy and Rick first met in 1991 and their lives were changed forever.

Betsy raised two loving children. Margo is a recent graduate of Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont and a current research assistant at Boston Children’s Hospital. Ryan is a sophomore at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and plays on the varsity football team.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, July 10, at Bradley, Brough and Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Avenue, Summit, New Jersey and flowers can be sent directly there.  Due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, you MUST reserve a spot to attend using the Sign Up Genius link above. Attendees must adhere to the times they have chosen.

The funeral will be at Bradley, Brough and Dangler Funeral Home at 9:30 AM on July 11. Due to the restrictions on number of attendees for an inside event, the funeral will be limited to family members and close friends of the family, however the service will be live streamed to provide remote attendance via the link above.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey. Those who have attended the funeral and interment are invited to join the Reigle family for a luncheon from 1:00 to 4:00pm at 9 High Street in Summit.
