Bernadette K. Powers, (nee Kane), 82, passed peacefully on March 14, 2016. Born in Orange, NJ, raised in Vailsburg, NJ, resided in Warren Township before moving to Waretown in 1991. Bernadette is pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years, Richard Powers. She is survived by her son Tim Powers and his wife Jennifer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Pat Clifton, Carolyn Schroeder, Charles Beach, Barbara Woitowicz, Mike Kane, Mary Davis, Patrick Kane, Kitty Reimers, Mark Friedman, Jane Friedman, Bob Powers, Tom Powers, Kathy Ruffus and their families. Bernadette was an avid fan of tennis and golf, enjoyed crossword puzzles and bingo. She worked for New Jersey Bell after graduating High School. She later worked for Farleigh Dickinson University and Chubb Insurance Company. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 9:30 am at Holy Spirit Church, Union. Interment Ocean County Memorial Park, Waretown, NJ. Visiting hours, Friday, 4pm to 8pm at the Bradley Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. Union. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernadette’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691
