Barbara Clayton Thompson, a long-time resident of Madison, passed away at her home on October 27, 2020. She was 95.
Born in Toms River to the late Ruth and William Clayton, Barbara received her Bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey and her Master’s degree from Seton Hall University. She was an elementary school teacher with the Springfield school district for 35 years, retiring in 1985.
Barbara was an avid golfer and painter as well as a world traveler. She was highly regarded by the many friends and acquaintances she met pursuing these activities over the years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Thompson, the loving mother of Carol Steins, devoted grandmother of Lauren Steins and the cherished sister of Gordon Clayton.
