~~Audrey T. McCaffrey (nee Wert), 86, passed away after a long illness at her daughter’s home on July 12th. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Alden M. and Grace (Cappy) Wert, she lived in Hawthorne, NY, Madison, NJ, Forked River, NJ, Spring Hill, FL,

and Pompton Plains, NJ. Audrey was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School (secretarial program), and worked as an executive secretary at NY Telephone Co., Westchester County College, Westchester County Department of Environmental Facilities, The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, and finished her long career at A.T. & T. She was a dedicated mother of five who fostered a love of education and exercise. She even served on the Board of Education for the Mt. Pleasant Central School District #1 in Hawthorne, N.Y. Her interests included: volunteering at her various parishes as Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and Rosary Altar Society member, playing bridge, boating, singing and reading. She was a member of The Timber Tones in Spring Hill, FL, the Lackawanna Power Squadron, the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Thursday Morning Club in Madison, N.J. Audrey was predeceased by her husband of fifty-seven years, Herbert F. McCaffrey, two brothers, Alden and George Wert, two sisters, Martha Sammond and Grace Powell, and her beloved niece and nephews, Martha Degenhardt, Donald Smith, and Craig Wert. She was the devoted mother of Carol Ann Martyniuk (Peter), of Vernon, NJ, Keith McCaffrey (Jeanette), of Edgewater, MD, Eileen Corritori (Dan) of Long Valley, NJ, Kenneth McCaffrey (Noreen), of Chatham, NJ, and Kerri McCaffrey of Chester, NJ. She was the loving grandmother of Matthew, Christie, and Michael Martyniuk, Kathleen, Erin, and Kevin Corritori, Kyle and Ryan McCaffrey, Kara, Neil, and Leigh McCaffrey, and Connor and Colin Manning. She was the great grandmother of Nova Selene Martyniuk, and Nina Ann Annunziato. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2016 at 1pm at Corpus Christi Church 234 Southern Blvd., Chatham. Interment will take place at St. Vincent Martyr Cemetery, Madison. Viistation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Wm A Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham.
