At Bradley & Son Funeral Homes, it is our goal to provide the highest quality memorial service programs to our families. In conjunction with or in lieu of traditional funeral and cremation services, we are proud to offer the service of our Certified Funeral Celebrants. Please see below for answers to some frequently asked questions:

What is a Celebrant Service?

It is a funeral ceremony that is conducted by a Certified Funeral Celebrant to celebrate the life of your loved one with a more personal, humanistic “celebration of life." Every aspect of the service celebrates your loved one's lifestyle, honoring their spirit and faith. Funeral Celebrants are specially trained in leading, conducting, and facilitating all aspects of a funeral service. Typical components of a Celebrant Service include eulogies, music, poems, and prayers.

Is a Celebrant Service right for my family?

Ideal candidates are families who do not have an affiliation with a particular church or religion. Families looking for a more personal and creative ceremony to honor their loved one may find this to be an appropriate option. Celebrant Services can also be done in conjunction with clergy.

Where can a Celebrant Service take place?

Most Celebrant Services take place within a funeral home, but can be held almost anywhere: a catering hall, hotel, restaurant, country club, park, beach, cemetery, or at a private residence. Celebrant Services can serve as the primary ceremony or take place during visiting hours prior to a religious service.

What do I need to do?

Once your family chooses to have a celebrant service, you will meet with one of our Certified Funeral Celebrants. The Funeral Celebrant will review ceremony options step by step, helping you create the service that will best capture your loved one's essence. During your time with the Funeral Celebrant, you'll tell stories and begin selecting various service components, such as music, poems, and prayers. Family members will be encouraged to make decisions and participate in as much or as little as is appropriate for your family.

Bradley Funeral Homes has been conducting uniquely memorable Celebrant Services for over a decade. Our knowledge and experience will help you create a lasting memory for your family. Read more about our passion for making sure each life is well remembered.
