Anton F. Eckert, 88, of Summit, NJ passed away peacefully on October 6, 2017.

Born in Newark and raised in Union, NJ, Fred lived in Summit since 1960. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia “Ginny” (Toohey), his brother Ed, his four children James (wife Abby), Kathy, Ellen, and Greg (wife Eslin) and five grandchildren (Allie, Bill, Sophie, Charles and Henry).

Fred graduated from The Cooper Union in 1955. He was a registered architect for over 55 years. He was also a proud member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and a registered professional planner. He started his own firm in 1962, Zywotow & Eckert, and later changed the name of his company to USArchitects.

The viewing will be held on Friday, October 13 at the Bradley, Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901 from 4-8pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, October 14 at 9:30am at St. Teresa of Avila, 306 Morris Ave, Summit, NJ. Burial will follow at the Hollywood Memorial Park and Cemetery in Union, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Fred may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater New Jersey, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053 or the Community Food Bank, 31 Evans Terminal, Hillside, NJ 07205.
