Anthony J. “Tony” Michele, 94, of Union, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Runnells Rehab, Berkeley Heights, NJ.
Tony was born September 19, 1925 in Newark, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pelegrino and Theodora (nee Illegio) Michele.
Tony served in the United States Army during World War II where he received a purple heart. He was a parishioner of Holy Spirit Church, Union, NJ and a member of the Union Seniors. Above all, he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
Tony is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie Michele. He was the beloved father of daughters; Deborah Knoth and (Robert Michael) and Donna Morley and (Steve) and cherished grandfather of Michael Knoth, Megan Knoth Carroll and Stephen Morley.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Bradley, Haeberle and Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:15 am on Monday, December 23, 2019 at St. Michael’s Church, 1212 Kelly St., Union, NJ 07083. Cremation will be private.
