~~Anne McGrath Cassidy (Midge) was born January 20, 1927 in White Plains NY, daughter of John D. and Marjorie Bursch McGrath. She attended White Plains schools and was active in sports and student government. Midge graduated in 1948 from Goucher College, Baltimore, Maryland, where she was also active in the student government and sports. Midge became an accomplished equestrian on her college team and received the Athletic Association award, given each year for sports and outstanding scholarship. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity. After graduation, Midge entered the Human Resource field serving as Human Resource Director for United States Life Insurance and was Vice President of Standard Security Life Insurance, both in New York City. Midge was active in New York City’s community affairs. After moving to New Jersey, due to her husband John’s transfer, she was active in local affairs and was on the Board of Rolling Hill Associations as well as the Hospitality Chairperson for Grace Church in Madison, NJ. At Grace Church, she served on the Vestry and chaired many events, along with significant involvement in the day care program for low income families. Midge was well known for her servant’s heart and she touched many lives through her mentoring and support, both personally and professionally. She was preceded in death by her husband John J. Cassidy and is survived by her Bursch cousins who affectionately referred to her as “Aunt Midge”. Family receiving and viewing to be held on Sunday, 1/15/2017, at Bradley Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Funeral services to be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 4 Madison Ave., Madison, NJ, on Monday, 1/16/2017, at 9:30 AM, with graveside services following at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
