Anne DeMeo
11/23/1920 - 12/22/2019

Anne DeMeo passed away on December 22, 2019 at the age of 99 surrounded by her loved ones. She was a generous, strong, compassionate woman, the mighty heart of her family.

The daughter of immigrants, Anne was born in Hoboken, New Jersey to Sofia and Frank D’Auria on November 23rd, 1920. As a young woman she was hired by the Bell Telephone Company as an operator. Shortly after she married the love of her life, Alfred DeMeo. Together they had three daughters, Marianne, Susan, and Debbie.

Anne was a woman of strong faith. She believed in worship and the power of prayer, especially to her patron saint, Saint Anne. She grew up celebrating Saint Anne in her childhood parish and felt a strong connection and devotion to her throughout her life.

A consistent and deeply generous caregiver, Anne was completely devoted to her husband and daughters. She was proudest of her family and of the large gatherings she hosted, where everyone would come together, eat, laugh and enjoy each other in the home she shared with her husband for more than 50 years. She faced life’s obstacles with courage, dignity, and grace.

In the last years of her life especially, she shared an extraordinary bond with her daughters and sister Susan, with whom she shared a home. Her passion for life and her strength of spirit was inspirational. She challenged us and touched our lives in countless ways, and we are grateful.

Anne DeMeo is survived by her sister Susan D’Auria; her daughters Susan Dzierzynski, Debbie Mounsey, Marianne Marks who is deceased; their husbands Richard Dzierzynski, Rob Mounsey, and Carlos Marks; her grandchildren Brian and Kyra Dzierzynski, Clint and Brittany Marks, Jenna Dzierzynski and her fiancee Jack McKenna, Julia Mounsey and Paul Mounsey; and her four great-grandchildren, Tatum, Cammi, Nolan and Archer.
