Anna S. Ganly (nee Scherer), formerly of Madison, NJ, died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Sunrise of Basking Ridge, NJ.  She was 92.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Clement and Hedwig Scherer. Anna lived in Union until her marriage when she moved to Madison.  She earned a BS degree at The College of New Jersey and a Master’s degree at Montclair State College.  For 30 years, Anna was a Business Education teacher at Irvington High School.  Upon her retirement from teaching in 1985, she worked as a travel agent in Short Hills and Westfield.

Anna was a devoted communicant of St Vincent Martyr Church in Madison.  For several years she was a member of the Schwabischer Sangerbund Mixed Chorus of Clark, N.J.  Anna was also a dedicated volunteer at the Carol Simon Cancer Center of Morristown Medical Center, where she met many good friends.  In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting with friends, baking, playing golf, exercising, and in recent years took up bridge.  In the earlier years, Anna and her beloved husband, John, enjoyed a vacation home in the Pocono Mountains and travelled around the world with visits to many countries.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1995, as well as her sister Helen Feola and Frank Scherer.  She is survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Scherer, and will be greatly missed by her dear nieces and nephews Steven Feola, Debora O’Keefe, Diane Feola, Denise Sweeney, Mark Feola and Paul Feola, their spouses and many cherished and adoring grand-nieces and grand-nephews.  Anna took great pride and delight in her family, and she was abundantly blessed and filled with gratitude for many deep and steadfast friendships.
