Anastasia “Nancy” Kopcha. of Convent Station, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 97. Born in Ukraine, she immigrated to the United States in 1939 through Ellis Island. Living in New York City, she married Dimetri Kopcha in 1941. Once their children were born, the family relocated to Clifton, NJ. She moved to Convent Station in 1985. A member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Whippany, her faith was very important to her. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needle point as well as dancing and listening to Polka music. But above all else, Nancy loved her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Dimetri. She was the loving mother of Daniel Kopcha and his wife Sandra of Warren; Stephen Kopcha and his wife Karen of Fairfield, CT and Irene Weger and her husband Dr. Robert. She was the cherished grandmother and great-grandmother of Allison and Ray Reu and their daughter Michaela; Heather and Vincent Iademarco and their children Daniel and Emma; Robert Weger; Lauren and Matthew Todaro and their children Josephine and Lorenzo; Ryan Weger; and Stacy and Jacob Fussell and their son Wade.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 60 North Jefferson Rd., Whippany on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:00 am. An interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Whippany Rd., in Morristown. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Whippany.
