~~Alice M. Stuerze (nee George), 91, of Union passed away at Overlook Hospital on July 11, 2015. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Union, 525 Thoreau Terr, Union on Wednesday, July 15th at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth, 1100 Pine Ave, Union on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
Born in Newark, Alice lived in Union for the past 62 years. She was a form designer with Prudential Insurance in Newark and had also worked at the Union Leader and for the Springfield Board of Education. Alice was an active member of the First Baptist Church including being a deaconess, a member of the Lamp Circle and a volunteer in the church library. She was a member and past president of the Tuesday Club, a member of the Friday Club and a former member of the Monday Club, all in Union. Alice enjoyed reading, line dancing in her younger days, cooking and baking.
Alice was the beloved wife of the late Alfred C. Stuerze and was the loving mother of Kathy Wilczek. Donations in Alice’s memory may be made to the church at 356 Colonial Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
