Alfred B Norris

~~Alfred B. Norris, 84, of Madison, passed away on October 21, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Alfred was born in Dale, Texas.

He served in the US Navy during the Korean War from October 6, 1950 to May 11, 1954. He received the Air Medal for “meritorious achievement in aerial flight as a member of a Patrol Plane Crew in Patrol Squadron 46” from October 1951 to February 1952.

He was a graduate of North Texas University with a Master Degree in Math and Physics. He worked for Western Electric, Inc. at Bell Laboratories in Whippany, NJ in the Underwater Sound Department. He then went on to XYBION Medical Systems in Cedar Knolls, NJ from which he retired from after thirty years as Technical Director.

Alfred is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Johann; daughter, Lynne and her spouse, Catherine; grandson Zachary and his brother, James Eric Norris of Lubbock, Texas. Al was pre-deceased by his brothers, William Taylor Norris and Robert Norman.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd. Chatham Township, NJ. Interment at St. Vincent’s Cemetery. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, from 5 to 8 pm at the Wm. A. Bradley &Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham.
