Alexander Parker Butta, 24, of Chatham passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on July 1st. Alex had fought a courageous seven year battle against brain cancer. A Memorial Service will be held at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Chatham on Thursday, July 5th at 2pm. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 12-2pm prior to the service.
Born in New York City, Alex was a life long resident of Chatham where he graduated from Chatham High School in 2006. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Marist College in 2011; he was also elected to the “Who’s Who in American Universities & Colleges.” Alex was also a member of the fencing team, and had a great interest in technology. He not only built his own computer, he had also worked for the Chatham School District’s Technology Department for 3 years during his summer breaks. Alex had also worked at Marist’s Health Services Department and had volunteered at the Chatham Library.
Alex was the beloved and devoted son of Roy and Barbara Butta, cherished brother of Blaine Butta, and loving grandson of Caterina Butta. He is also survived by many loving relatives.
