Schroeder, Alan T., 74, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 20th. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 25th at 10:30 am at St. Patrick Church, 85 Washington Ave, Chatham. Interment to follow at St. Teresa Cemetery, Summit. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 24th from 4-8 pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Chatham. A resident of Chatham for 47 years, Alan was the owner of A.T. Schroeder Electrical Contracting. He was a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a long time member of St. Patrick Church. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed photography and astronomy. As a young man, he obtained his pilot’s license, and enjoyed flying small aircraft. He also spent much time keeping up with technology, whether it be on his computer or a new gadget in the house.
Predeceased by his wife Michael “Mickey” (nee Finn) of 49 years, he is survived by his children Alan T. Schroeder, Jr. (Judy), Sandra Alice Dwyer (David), Doris Jean Eckstine (Steven) & James Frederick Schroeder (Julie); and his eight grandchildren, Thomas, Sarah, Henry, Katelyn, Jack, Olivia, Derek & Amy.
