Adele H. Baklarz

Adele H. Baklarz (nee Szelewa), a long time resident of Chatham, died on Sunday, November 20, 2011. She was 89.

Mrs. Baklarz was born and raised in Maplewood with her one brother. In 1947, she married Sidney Baklarz and raised 5 children. Prior to raising her family, she worked for Western Electric. She had lived in Chatham since 1952, moving to Madison 4 years ago. While in Chatham, she was an active member of the St. Patrick’s Rosary Society. During her life, gardening was her passion. Her gardens were the pride of the neighborhood. She continued her hobby in Madison as a member of the Garden Club at her residence. Her other favorite pastime was knitting. She was always working on a project and many newborns were lucky recipients of her knitting.

She was the beloved wife of the late Sidney Baklarz. She is survived by her children, Michael and wife Kathleen of Wantage, Dr. Martha Croley of Florham Park, Patricia Dale and her husband Keith of Alexandria Twp., Elizabeth Buckler and her husband Andrew of Wenham, MA, Katherine Spelker and her husband Matthew of Madison and her 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
