At Bradley & Son Funeral Homes, we believe that every service deserves to be truly memorable, flawlessly planned, and correct to the finest detail. We are always available, at a moment's notice, to assist families through this difficult time. With Bradley Funeral Homes, the difference is in the details.

We offer traditional funeral services, cremation and memorial options tailored to meet the needs of each individual family and their religious beliefs. We own five funeral homes which are close to churches, synagogues and cemeteries, and are easily accessible to major highways. Click here to find a location near you.

We are proud of our 70 year history in caring for our neighbors and friends. Our history began in 1931 when William A. Bradley graduated from the Renouard Training School for Embalmers in New York City. After apprenticing under his cousin, Robert Mason, he was licensed in 1935. In 1943, William purchased the funeral home at 345 Main Street in Chatham marking the beginning of Bradley & Son Funeral Homes.

William's son, Richard R. Bradley joined his father in the family business in 1961 after graduating from Lehigh University. Richard then completed his Funeral Director training at the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1963.

In 1987, Scott W. Bradley followed in his father's footsteps and joined Bradley & Son. Scott graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, and received his Mortuary Science degree at the American Academy/McAllister Institute also. He possesses a Masters in Social Work degree which enables him to help the people left behind compassionately, as well as professionally. In 1997, Scott acquired Braviak Funeral Home in Whippany, and in 2003, he acquired Haeberle & Barth in Union, Smith & Smith in Springfield, and Brough Funeral Home in Summit.

While we are proud of honoring our traditions, we are now offering innovative services that no one else is providing. We have realized that our clients need more support services at this time, and have proudly risen to the occasion.

Planning the funeral arrangements is only the beginning for us. We have evolved to offer much more! We now offer Tribute and Celebrant Services where non traditional, as well as traditional, services can be planned which reflect the unique personality of the deceased. We can prepare Memorial Tributes, Memorial Videos, and Tribute Luncheons/Dinners to honor your loved ones. In 2005, Paivi Outinen brought her substantial experience to us and began running our Bereavement Support Groups at the Center for Life Transition. We also offer private Bereavement Counseling for those left behind.

We will be adding further innovative services including Home Care and Estate Settlements in the near future.

We follow a team approach and integrate services to provide for your total needs at this time. If we do not currently offer a service, we will certainly try to handle this for your family. We strive towards providing you with more than you would expect, and will walk with you every step of the way.
